What a night to see such a great match, and a to see a result that the majority of people in the church wanted. Man utd champions again.
This was one of the best nights of football in the church, with most of the the 100+ crowd rooting for the reds. At half time the nerves kicked in, and over supper the talk was of a Chelsea win with them coming on so strong at the end of the first half. Soon into the second half, the noise of the crowd was amazing. Even though the players could not hear us, it felt fantastic to support such a great side and result.
This was such a different scene in the church to that of the normal Sunday church service where we worship the living God. It is great to see the church being used for outreach to the community in such a way.
It is our challenge to continue to be creative in our thinking to get the unsaved into the church service to hear the word of God each Sunday and Wednesday.
