Sermon: Extravagant Faith
Extravagant Faith: Noah Hebrews 11: v7 Noah had: • fear in the Lord - serious trust + • fear of the Lord - serious reverence. 1: By faith Noah built. • with a fraction of the Divine light we have - he did not argue with God. • Faith + Fear = Obedience • What "arks" are you building? 2: By faith Noah preached. • Hard jobs are always easier to deal with than hard people. • he persisted with a message of the mercy, patience and judgement of God. • No society was ever judged by God without adequate warning. 3: By faith Noah became heir if righteousness. • this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Romans 3:22 • God - I will meet you only at the cross!

I was part of the team from First Baptist Concord (Tennessee) that attended the service that night, and this sermon is incredibly powerful. From the concept that fear is an integral part of obedience, to the challenge that we each need to build our ark, to the statement that God will only meet us at the cross, this was a message that challenged me and provided direction for how I should be living my faith. This sermon was one of the most powerful moments of our journey, and I am very thankful I was able to experience it. Thank you, and God bless you and your church.
